Online Head-Shoulder-Analysis

at the University of Hamburg on April, 28th 2025

Digital 1:1 coaching / duration of the consultation: 30 minutes

Neck pain does not have to be!
The increase in muscular tension and discomfort in the neck and shoulder area is undisputed. Working on mobile, often small devices, such as smartphones, tablets or notebooks, provokes overloading of the muscular structures. Poor posture and complaints are the consequences. The cause is usually the severely forward-leaning head posture and the constant alternation between forward and upright posture, with an otherwise unmoving posture. The typical overloads are intensified by the extended use of mobile devices while standing or walking. The head tilts further forward, the alternation between leaning forward and straightening up increases. Likewise, the tensile force on the neck muscles. The head-shoulder analysis is a valuable diagnostic tool in corporate health promotion in order to create a basic understanding of the need-based, health-promoting use of modern work equipment.

A photo is taken while standing and evaluated in a scientifically sound manner. The results of the measurement visualize the existing inclination of the head and the resulting overload and incorrect posture. The results form the basis for advice on preventing complaints in the neck and shoulder area and on conscious, ergonomic handling of the work equipment used. Compensation exercises for a balanced head posture complete the consultation. The personal results, recommendations and exercises are made available after the consultation.
